Woman Caught Hiding Stepson In Car Boot Just Before '2 Person Per Car' Rule Gets Lifted

A woman was fined RM1,000 after police found her hiding her teenage stepson in the car boot at an interdistrict roadblock in Penang yesterday evening, 18 February
According to New Straits Times, the 35-year-old woman was stopped at KM2.4 of the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway (BKE) around 5pm.
She was driving with another 14-year-old boy in the front passenger seat when the police stopped the car for a routine check.
The woman told the police that she was headed to Tesco Extra in Seberang Jaya to buy some clothes
However, Central Seberang Perai district police chief ACP Shafee Abd Samad said the officer noticed that the Proton Waja was suspiciously low for only two passengers in the car.
"The police asked the woman to move her vehicle on the shoulder of the road for further inspection because her car was abnormally lowered," said the police chief, as quoted by Harian Metro.
Sure enough, they found another 14-year-old boy, who turned out to be her stepson, hiding in the boot of the car
The police also found out that the boy seated in front was his friend.
Despite so, Shafee said the woman was only issued a RM1,000 compound for failing to produce an interdistrict movement permit.
The police then ordered her to turn back to Butterworth with the two boys.
