The UMNO president offered his apology to the people and frontliners.
Last night, 1 October, UMNO president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi took to his Twitter to address the worrying COVID-10 situation
In his tweet, Zahid Hamidi said that on behalf of all UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) members, he would like to apologise to Malaysians and the frontliners following the increase in the new COVID-19 cases.
There were 260 new COVID-19 cases recorded yesterday, 1 October, making it the second-highest COVID-19 spike in the country since 4 June when there were a total of 277 cases recorded in a day.
According to Zahid Hamidi, while the spike in COVID-19 cases is due to the Sabah elections, holding the elections wasn't BN's decision
The UMNO president advised BN members and machinery who were at the Sabah elections to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that have been set by MOH.
"Take care of yourself and pray that Allah will heal this pandemic," he said.
