Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin has now offered his apology to a Sabahan student, whom he accused of lying in order to become popular for entertainment

In a statement posted last night, 3 September, Zahidi Zainul said that he had received "inaccurate information" when he questioned 18-year-old Veveonah Mosibin's claim that she had to climb a tree and stay on top of it for 24 hours to get a better Internet connection for her online examinations in June.

The Deputy Minister then apologised to the student, whose claim he previously said was a "fabrication".

Here's what Zahidi Zainul said in his clarification remark

"Referring to the debate in Dewan Negara earlier today, 3 September, I would like to correct the statement I made about Veveonah Mosibin that she did not sit for her online exams sitting on a tree," read the statement.

"I have received inaccurate information in regards to this during the question and answer session. I want to apologise to Veveonah Mosibin and will make a correction in Dewan Negara on Monday."

I wish Veveonah will continue to thrive in every field she ventures into.
