Young Malaysian Boxer Wins His First Ever Professional Fight Against Indonesian Opponent
Prior to the match, Abdullah has never taken part in the professional fight!
It was a positive outing for youngster Muhammad Shehran Abdullah at the Malaysia Professional Boxing Championship (MPBC) as he emerged victorious in his debut appearance as a professional boxer
The inaugural Malaysia Professional Boxing Championship (MPBC) was held on 17 April at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya.
The KL-born boxer, who has never taken part in a professional fight prior to the match, competed against Indonesia’s Mujiyono in the featherweight category
The win comes when judges unanimously decided on his remarkable performance in the ring.
Abdullah said he was surprised at the result considering he had only undergone one year of professional boxing training
"In the beginning of the match, I was quite worried about the outcome of the match because my opponent had more experience. He was aggressive and unleashed many punches on me. Nevertheless, I am really happy and grateful for my first win as a professional boxer," said Abdullah.
Another Malaysian boxer, Jonathan Thoo Yeow Ming beat Heri Andriyanto, also from Indonesia, to clinch a 2-1 win in the super lightweight category
"I did not expect to win because I had only 4 professional matches under my belt. On the other hand, Andriyanto has competed in over 40 professional matches," said Thoo.
Well done, boys! Continue to kick ass!
