South Korea’s beloved figure skater is now officially done with a sport that she has competed in for more than 15 years. All That Skate 2014, an annual ice show that took place from May 4 to May 6, served as a farewell ceremony for Queen Yuna.

For the opening event, which started with a silent tribute to the hundreds of victims of the sunken ship Sewol, Ms. Kim performed with other skaters to the song of “Let It Go” from Walt DisneyDIS -0.91%’s popular film “Frozen,” wearing a sky blue dress that reminded fans of the animated, icy queen Elsa.

Kim Yuna, Who Began Skating At The Age Of 5, Has Broken World Record Scores 11 Times Since 2007

Kim Yuna, also known as "Queen Yuna," is a national hero in South Korea, is ranked No. 1 by the International Skating Union (ISU) and was named by TIME magazine as one of the 100 most influential people of 2010.

Making her senior international debut in 2006, Yuna Kim came to prominence when she claimed two gold medals in a row at the 2006-2007 season and 2007-2008 Grand Prix Finals. At the 2007 World Championships in Tokyo, Yuna Kim short program, Tango de Roxanne, blew the competition away by earning the highest score (71.95 points) ever under the current ISU judging system.

At the 2009 World Championships, Kim topped her own world record in the short program with 76.12 points and won with an overall score of 207.71 points, the world's best record. Yuna Kim became the only one who earned more than 8 points in Program Component Scores among world figure skaters. Kim broke the world record again with a total of total of 228.56 points, en-route to winning the gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
