The 2017 Standard Chartered KL Marathon Is Now Open For Registration
The popular marathon will be held on 21 May.
Runners, it's time to mark your calendars for the last week of May!
For the ninth year running, Standard Chartered KL Marathon will be held on 21 May at Dataran Merdeka and public registrations are now open!
Dirigo Events, race owner and organiser of the Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2017 (SCKLM), announced that registrations have opened yesterday, 16 January, from 10am onwards.
A new pre-registration system was introduced to acknowledge and thank runners who took part in the 2016 event
The pre-registrations were opened from 3 - 31 December 2016 for runners that took part in last year's "Individual" and "Run For A Reason" category.
On the other hand, this year's runners who are taking part in the "Corporate Challenge" and "Run For A Reason" categories were able to start registering from 6 January onwards.
A number of new categories have been introduced in this year's marathon
Apart from the Full and Half Marathons, the Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2017 will also feature a 10km distance and a 5km Fun Run for social runners, along with Kids’ Dash categories for children under 12 years of age.
There will also be several categories like the Corporate Challenge, Media Challenge, Universities Challenge and Ministries Challenge to either raise money for charity.
Last but not least, all runners will be competing for a slice of almost RM500,000 worth of prizes that is on offer at the marathon, which include bonus prizes for record-breaking course times
Do note that all registrations will close on 31 March 2017 or when all slots have been taken. So you better be quick!
