Celcom Users Get 7 Days Of Free Data For WhatsApp And Facebook After Data Disruptions

The telco's users have complained of poor data connectivity over the weekend.

Rejoice Celcom users! After a few days of poor data connectivity, the telco has informed that users will be given free data for Facebook and WhatsApp for seven days, starting 29 April.

"We are happy to announce that we will be providing FREE unlimited Facebook and WhatsApp to all Celcom and Xpax subscribers from 29 April – 5 May 2017. No internet quota will be deducted for Facebook and WhatsApp during this period," read the announcement on their Facebook page today, 25 April.

Celcom previously posted an initial start date of 25 April, but they have since updated it to 29 April instead.

On 22 April, Celcom acknowledged the complaints by users who were facing problems with data connection, saying that they may face data disruptions when using Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram

"You may be experiencing some slowness in connectivity on Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram. We regret any inconvenience caused," read the Facebook post on Saturday afternoon.

They stressed that they were working with Facebook to resolve the matter.

Just a day later, the telco said that the data connectivity has been restored and that they are working on upgrades with Facebook that they're aiming to complete by Friday, 28 April

"We are pleased to share that we have restored data connectivity that affected your experience on Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram. Facebook and Celcom are working together on further upgrades to enhance your experience on Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram," read the post.
