You'll Soon Be Able To Enter Singapore Without A Physical Passport
Both countries are looking to implement passport-free QR code clearance at their land checkpoints.

Malaysia and Singapore are planning to implement passport-free travel between both countries
Malaysia's Economy Ministry and Singapore's Trade and Industry Ministry yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to work towards the development ofthe Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ).
The JS-SEZ is aimed at boosting trade between both countries, and several initiatives are being considered to expedite its development, including passport-free travel between Singapore and Johor.
A passport-free QR code system is being considered as a potential method to expedite clearance at land checkpoints
Both ministries also acknowledged the need to improve cross-border transportation and enhance the business environment in the JS-SEZ.
Last year, Singapore's Immigration and Checkpoints Authority introduced a passport-free QR code system
This system was implemented for vehicles departing through the Tuas and Woodlands checkpoints. However, travellers are still required to submit their documents when entering Malaysia.
A new business and investment service centre may also be set up in Johor
This service centre would make iteasier for Singaporean businesses to obtain the approvals and licenses required to set up in the region.
Besides that, they're also planning to use digital processes for cargo clearance, gather feedback through investor forums, address skill gaps with training programs, boost trade and investment through events in the JS-SEZ, as well as collaborate on renewable energy.
