Octocopters promise to deliver quick and light deliveries within half an hour

The drones are expected to deliver an approximate package weight of 5lbs (2.3kg) within 30 minutes of order placement, unmanned.

Amazon points out that the weight cap makes up to 86% of the items that they deliver.

The drones will deliver within 10 miles from Amazon Fulfillment Centers, situation in 14 states. This means that in order to achieve the 30-minutes frame, the drones will be traveling at a speed of 20 mph or 32 km/h!

The technology is approximated to only roll out in 5 years
