Apple's "Most Powerful Mac Ever" Will Cost You More Than RM20,000
Specs for big workflows and bigger budgets.
Apple took to the international stage yesterday to announce its latest creation in the form of a bad@ass machine - the iMac Pro
The new product, unveiled onstage at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), is supposed to "the most powerful Mac ever"
That's a strong statement there but the company has the specs to back it up.
The new iMac Pro starts with an 8-core Intel Xeon processor, but can be configured with an 18-core processor variant, as well as up to 128GB of EEC RAM, 4TB of SSD storage, and Radeon Vega discrete graphics cards with up to 16GB of memory.
The iMac Pro is designed to handle the most demanding tasks like real-time 3D rendering
“This will be our fastest and most powerful Mac ever, which brings workstation-class computing to iMac for the first time,” John Ternus, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering, explains.
“We reengineered the whole system and designed an entirely new thermal architecture to pack extraordinary performance into the elegant, quiet iMac enclosure our customers love — iMac Pro is a huge step forward and there’s never been anything like it.”
Crazy specs aside, the computer is decked out in an all-new space grey finish alongside space grey accessories - something we've not seen from Apple before
And if there's one thing we've learned from previous releases is that every time Apple puts out something that's not black or white - it will sell out.
The price? Not much, if you have USD4,999 (RM21,333) to spare.
The iMac Pro will be available this December so you actually have more than five months to save up. Good luck.
