If you've ever wondered why you would ever need to buy a drone, you need to meet Lily

Lily might just be one of the coolest drones around. Created by Lily Robotics, Lily is a self-flying drone that follows you wherever you go, and follows a series of commands, all with the help of a wearable tracker.

The tracker.

The Lily was created by Antoine Balaresque and Henry Bradlow, who met while studying computer science and working at the UC Berkeley Robotics Laboratory. To follow its subject, it relies on a small GPS tracker that the user carries in their pocket or wears on their wrist, but the drone also incorporates computer vision technology that can recognize its owner and use algorithms to more precisely frame them within a scene. The tracking device also records audio that syncs with your video, something no other drone offers, as the rotors would typically drown out sound.

The 12-megapixel built in camera can shoot 1080p videos, or at 720p up to 120 frames per second. It is also able to shoot slow motion footage.

Lily lasts up to 20 minutes of flight time on a full charge. Besides that, it flies at a speed of 25 miles per hour.

Lily is capable of taking a variety of shots from side to overhead angles

Lily is also waterproof, so you wouldn't have to worry about flying it over waterfalls and rapids

An ultimate selfie machine, Lily will take your cool overhead shots. Don't think you can do that with a GoPro!

Because normal selfies are too common.
