Evleaks has posted what appears to be a render of an unannounced Samsung "Huron" Windows Phone

Codenamed “Huron,” the device looks “very similar to a late model Galaxy S,” @evleaks says. This would be Samsung’s first Windows Phone in more than a year since the ATIV Odyssey was unveiled in January 2013, also on Verizon.

It sports a hardware Home button with the Windows Phone logo. It's not clear if the phone will have capacitive touch buttons for Back and Search (similar to Samsung's Android phones and the Ativ S Windows Phone handset) or onscreen buttons.

There have been rumours that Microsoft may include on-screen navigation buttons in future updates but it can't be ruled out that the image in the render might just be missing the hardware buttons or they're not backlit.

Samsung might be finally getting ready for the launch of a new smartphone running under Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system

Banking on the fact that after Microsoft's Nokia Acquisition, the latter would no more having the driver's seat control on the Windows 8 smartphones, Samsung seems to be building its next flagship device with Samsung SM-W750V - a Windows Phone 8 to be launched next year.

The Samsung phone showed up on an Indian shipping company called Zuaba. That the device is already being shipped out "for R&D" and "for testing and evaluation" may suggest that a release isn't too far off.

It has a 5-inch display of unknown resolution, and judging by its price tag of RM1,745, it is most likely a flagship-class handset

The 5 inch handset has a value of Rs. 31,967 for R&D and Rs. 33,245 for “testing and evaluation”, which is around $512 and $533, and about the same as the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3, suggesting we are dealing with a high end device.

Such a handset will likely have a 1080P screen and Snapdragon 800 processor, and is presumably a variant of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5, which is expected to be released in Q1 or early Q2 2014.

With no other details to go on, it's impossible to know just what Samsung's plans are, or what its mystery handset has on board, but given Sammy's market-domination position on Android, any move to step back into the Windows Phone arena will surely see plenty of interest from potential customers right from the start.
