This Girls-Only 'Mobile Legends' Tournament Has Prize Pool Of Over RM40,000 Up For Grabs

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is definitely one of the most popular games out there, having truly captured the hearts of gamers across Southeast Asia
And if you think that only boys play it, you couldn't be more wrong! Female gamers have been playing this popular mobile game for quite some time, with amateurs and professionals showing off their skills in a myriad of eports tournaments.
To champion female gamers across the region, IGN Southeast Asia has teamed up with Facebook Gaming to host a girls-only MLBB tournament called Squad Up Athena
Open to gamers in Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Indonesia, the national and international finals of this tournament will be livestreamed on IGN Southeast Asia's Facebook page.
A total of 24 teams will be competing in the national finals, with 12 of those teams being made up of notable Facebook Gaming creators.
The open qualifiers will run from December 18 to 20, with a showmatch on December 21 to introduce the creators who are joining the tournament.
The prize pool for the National finals is US$5,000 (RM21,132.50) for each country, while the International finals will feature a prize Pool of US$10,000 (RM42,265)!
The National finals will take place on 7 January 2022 for Singapore and Malaysia, 8 January 2022 for Indonesia, and 9 January for the Philippines. Meanwhile, the International finals will take place on 15 January 2022.
