This Guy Who Strapped 94 iPhones Onto His Body Clearly Didn't Think It Through
PS: He is not the same guy who was rejected by his girlfriend when he offered 99 iPhones to her.
A man has been arrested at the Chinese border for attempting to enter China with 94 iPhones strapped to his body, as per reports
The "genius", a citizen of Hong Kong, had strapped belts of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus around his thighs, torso, calves, and crotch, using a combination of plastic bags and masking tape. Imagine the excruciating pain he would've really been through when officials ripped off the tape. Just look how tightly wrapped they appear.
The iPhones have been seized and are currently being held by customs officials, according to a Sina news report
Sina News reports that the man caught the attention of customs officials for "weird walking posture" and "joint stiffness." The iPhone 6 and 6+ units were strapped around his torso, legs and pelvic area, with plastic bags and tape. He did not make it past the metal detector.
boingboing.netWhile the man could have presumably made a hefty profit, it's unclear where the iPhones were purchased from. Customs officials estimated to CNN that the total value of the phones surpassed $49,000. The iPhone man, who's had problems at the border in the past, was held for questioning, but his current status is not clear.
mashable.comAs per The Verge, the latest batch of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have been available in China for months, but smuggling is still common for stolen iPhones, which are often easier to fence in Asia

According to the report, so-called "mobile armor" is a fairly common tactic for phone smugglers.
theverge.comA single iPhone weighs 130 grams, so 94 iPhones would mean that he was carrying almost 13 kilograms of extra baggage. That's not too much to handle, but his "uncomfortable" look gave it away. Better luck next time...
