You Can Now Schedule A Ride On Uber!
A much needed update.
Uber, the popular ride-sharing service has rolled out what could be its most important feature to date - the ability for customers to book rides in advance
The idea behind Scheduled Rides is for customers who may need transport at an unusual hour – like catching a flight at 5am.
Currently only applicable to Uber X, customers would be able to schedule rides from as little as 15 minutes ahead of time, or as far ahead as 30 days in advance
Uber will send reminders both 24 hours and 30 minutes in advance of the pickup. Users will be notified after the ride is on the way, as well as whether surge pricing applies.
Uber's standard cancellation policy applies to Scheduled Rides as well. Users can cancel their ride anytime without penalty before the driver is en-route to their pick up.
Uber will give you an estimated fare but do note that this isn’t guaranteed as your actual trip may attract a surge during pick up especially if it’s peak hour.
However, do note that the feature is only available to certain locations in the five cities that Uber is currently operating, excluding the company's recent expansion to Kuching
