No one seems to be able to get a straight answer out of Robert Downey Jr. about whether or not Iron Man 4 is in the works.

Last year, Marvel announced that Robert Downey Jr. has officially signed to return as Tony Stark AKA Iron Man in both (still untitled) The Avengers 2 and The Avengers 3. Iron Man 4 – at least at this point in time – is not part of the plan for RDJ as he aims to clear up his schedule to pursue other projects.

This comes a month after RDJ stated that "there's nothing in the pipe," and "there’s no plan for a fourth Iron Man".

However, In A Later Appearance In The Late Show With David Letterman, The Iron Man Star Sang A Different Tune When The Topic Was Breached

Asked why not, the 49-year-old star said, "That's a valid question. Like it hasn't made enough money? Yeah, I guess they have too much money or something. There is no script for Iron Man 4. They do have a plan and I think they're going to announce it [soon]."

Undeterred, Letterman Asked Downey A Second Time If There's A Possibility Of Another Iron Man Movie In The Works, Only To Be Disappointed With The Answer

"How Am I Gonna Break It To My Son?", Letterman Lamented, To Which The Actor Replied, "There Will Be Other Stuff. He'll Be Fine!"
