Proton has officially launched the new and improved 2017 Proton Iriz

The Iriz was officially launched in June 2017 with new and improved features **after taking into account the feedback from the public**. Proton applied the similar treatment it used on the all-new Proton Persona back in August 2016.
The refinements made to the Iriz include improved Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH), better driveability, and Eco-Drive Assist Indicator

The engine mounts have been reduced from four to three in the new Iriz for **reduced vibration**. Its engine control unit has also been retuned to give the car better pickup.
The newly installed Eco-Drive Assist Indicator gives a **real-time display** on how to optimise driving operation and maximise fuel efficiency. This means **better fuel consumption** so you don't have to spend so much on petrol.

Other new features include:
– Improved carpet mats with **better grip** for enhanced comfort and safety while driving
– **Push-start button** for the Executive and Premium variants
– A glossy black front grille
– **Two-tone exterior** for the Premium variant
– **New fabric upholstery** with blue and red stripes along with red stitching
– **Sporty red stitching** on the steering wheel and on the finishing trims of the floor mats for Premium variant
– Head unit with **Android smartphone link**
– **Gear knob design** similar to the new Proton Persona
All these have been added to the refined Iriz without compromising its excellent safety features
The Proton Iriz is renowned for being the **Most Affordable 5-Star ASEAN NCAP**, an automobile safety rating established by the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research and the Global New Car Assessment Program.
On top of that, the Iriz had also bagged **numerous awards** such as:
– Compact Hatchback Car of the Year 2014
– People's Choice Award at the NST Car of the Year 2014
– Best Industrial Design 2015 by Intellectual Property Corporation
– Budget Car of the Year at the 2016 ASEAN Car of The Year Awards

The 2017 Proton Iriz is available in four different variants with two new colours
In addition to the current colours – Atlantic Blue, Graphite Grey, and Cotton White – Proton introduced two more exciting colours: **Ruby Red and Carnelian Brown**.
There are four variants of the 2017 Proton Iriz that customers can choose from:
– 1.3 Standard Manual
– 1.3 Standard CVT
– 1.3 Executive CVT
– 1.6 Premium CVT
The 2017 Proton Iriz is **priced from RM43,800 to RM58,800**.
