We're all familiar with the annual Earth Hour event during which participants choose to turn off all non-essential lights for an hour

As a global environmental initiative by WWF, Earth Hour asks everyone to take personal accountability for their impact on the planet and make behavioural changes to facilitate a sustainable lifestyle, to help minimise the adverse impacts of climate change.

As an extension of this, WWF-Malaysia is once again organising the Earth Hour Night Walk in an effort to build public support for environmentally sustainable action and raise funds for their conservation efforts

The kick off of the Earth Hour Night Walk 2016 in Petaling Jaya.

The walk is part of WWF's ongoing efforts to make sure that Earth Hour goes beyond the hour in helping to move individuals, businesses and governments towards a sustainable and better future.

The Earth Hour Night Walk 2017 in Petaling Jaya is co-organised by WWF-Malaysia, The Starling Mall, and the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ). MBPJ is the two-time Earth Hour City Challenge National Winner.

Here are all the relevant details:

The route for the Earth Hour Night Walk 2017.

Venue: The Starling Mall, Damansara Uptown

Date: 25 March 2017

Time:
7.15pm Booths open for walk participants
7.45pm Performance and speeches
8.30pm Earth Hour Night Walk Flag off / Earth Hour lights-off
9.30pm Distribution of medals. Earth Hour Night Walk ends and lights-on

Route: 3km

Registration fee: RM65 (Funds raised will be channeled to WWF-Malaysia’s conservation efforts.)

All participants will receive a walk pack which consists of a 100% organic cotton, eco-friendly Earth Hour 2017 T-Shirt as well as a medal made from recycled remnant wood and Forest Stewardship Council certified wood veneers

The tees can be collected before the event while the medals will only be distributed to participants who complete the walk on 25 March 2017.
