The journey begins at Kathmandu, where trekkers will be traveling to Pokhara via bus. The trekking starts at Siwai, and will take about four days to reach the base camp.

The aim of the expedition is to express unity and appreciation for Malaysia

Through the seven days of trekking, Expedition100 hopes to remind the trekkers and other Malaysians to be grateful as a nation that we are blessed. With trekkers from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, the combined effort aims to reach the base camp as an expression of unity and solidarity as a nation.

“We hope that this expedition would remind people to slow down our pace of life, be grateful, and appreciate what we have been blessed with as a nation,” said Shariman Said, Expedition Leader of Expedition100 and co-founder of NEX Adventure.

The proceeds from the expedition will be channelled to a charity in Nepal.

It's also an attempt to set a Guinness World Record

According to NEX Adventure, this is also an official attempt to put Malaysia on the pages of the Guinness Book of Record as the highest number of participants from a single nation to reach Annapurna Base Camp.

The application with Guinness World Records is still pending at time of publishing.
