Education Minister: Students Will Wear Black Shoes Instead Of White Next Year

Students have been wearing white shoes to schools for the longest time, but that may change in 2019

Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik said today, 19 July, that students will instead wear black shoes next year

He revealed during a Q&A session organised by Sinar Harian today. Maszlee said this was one of the many requests he received from parents.

"Mothers have requested for this – not the fathers," he said to applause from the crowd.

According to The Star Online, Dr Maszlee also revealed his plans for the next five years

Some of which included ensuring lighter schoolbags and reducing the number of years before students start their tertiary education.
