Everything You Should Know About The 18-Year-Old Kedah Boy Accused Of Raping His 3 Sisters
He faces 30 years' imprisonment and whipping if convicted.
A couple of days ago, Kuala Muda police arrested an 18-year-old boy from Pulau Tiga, Sungai Layar in Sungai Petani, Kedah, under Section 376B of the Penal Code
The boy is accused of raping his three sisters, aged 8, 9 and 14.
On Thursday, police sprung into action after the boy's mother lodged a report against him after her eight-year-old daughter revealed her ordeal.
Following which, his two other sisters also alleged to have been raped.
The eight-year-old girl alleges her brother took her to a vacant house adjacent to their home in Kampung Pulau Tiga and raped her there at 8pm on Wednesday, 19 July
The case has been classified under Section 376B of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum 30 years' imprisonment and whipping if convicted.
Kuala Muda Deputy Police Chief Superintendent Saifi Abd Hamid, meanwhile, said that investigators are also probing claims by the suspects' two other sisters, aged nine and 14, who allege that they were also raped by him.
On 22 July, Magistrate Arif Mohamad Ariff granted police's request for a week-long remand against the 18-year-old
While preliminary examinations have confirmed that the girls were raped, the complete medical report on the three girls is not complete as of today, 23 July.
According to the News Straits Times, the girls are still hospitalised at the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital in Sungai Petani pending their medical examination.
"We have remanded the brother and we have sent the girls for medical examination. We will have to wait for the full result," Kedah CID Chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Mior Farid Al Athrash Wahid was quoted as saying by the NST.
Meanwhile, after the boy learned that his mother had lodged a police report against him, he was restless.
But his father told him to turn himself in and he obliged.
"I told him to turn himself in so that the police could carry out the investigation, and he obliged. Before leaving the house on Thursday, he hugged his siblings, telling them to take care of themselves and said he might not return," the father said while fighting back tears, according to the New Sunday Times.
The 51-year-old father of 12 children — five girls and seven boys — said that he is astounded by the rape claims
Torn and tormented over the alleged rape of his daughters by their elder brother, the father said that the incident was "the biggest test of faith in my life".
"It never crossed my mind that my son could do such a thing to his siblings. He is a caring brother who doesn't do drugs or smoke.
"I am praying hard that it (the allegation) is not true. I don't think I can wake up from this nightmare," he was quoted as saying by the NST.
