Much better than being put on hold, right?

Calling up your internet service provider or telco can be a pretty frustrating affair, especially when you're forced to put on hold and listen to crackly music while the customer service reps are engaged

Don't even get us started on service centres that are only open during business hours a.k.a. when everyone is at work.

Good news - you can now reach out to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) via WhatsApp if you have any complaints against your telco or internet service provider!

The number will enable the public to report any issues or problems with regards to telecommunications, broadcast internet service, postal service and online gambling to the government agency

That includes complaints about slow internet and mobile data, WiFi connectivity issues, overcharging on phone bills, offensive and/or inappropriate material on media etc.

The number to save is 016-2206 262. It's open for complaints 24/7, and you can expect to receive a response within 24 hours between 9.00am to 5.00pm from Mondays to Fridays.

We sent them a message at 11.36am and have yet to receive a response as of 1.00pm.

Make sure you don't spam them for non-related issues or if they're not replying! They're probably just busy and not ignoring your message...
