5 Spots In Klang Valley Offering Free Food And Drinks To Voters On 9 May

Because who doesn't love free food? :D

There’s nothing like food that unites us as Malaysians. To encourage people to vote, these restaurants are rewarding Malaysians by serving free meals once they’ve voted on election day, 9 May.

1. Meet Mee, a noodle chain will be serving free bowls of pan mee at three of its branches in Desa Setapak, Danau Kota, and Sungai Long to voters on 9 May

The bowls of pan mee are usually priced between RM8.20 and RM8.80 according to the type of noodles. These guys are generously giving them out for free on election day!

2. Eng Chun Bak Kut Teh in Klang will also be serving 500 bowls of hot BKT and rice for free in both of its locations: Taman Berkeley and Taman Sentosa

All you need to do is show the indelible ink on your finger as proof that you’ve voted.

With each bowl usually costing RM11, the total cost that will be served will be worth RM5,500, according to Free Malaysia Today.

“I hope that this small token of appreciation will encourage the people, especially those who are coming back from afar,” restaurant owner Yong Jin Ng told New Straits Times.

He said he would love to serve more however, they will need to close the shop eventually to allow his 15 workers the chance to vote before 5 p.m. as well.

3. EPiC Fit Meals Co. will be offering free burgers worth RM16.95 on election day

Show the ink on your finger and receive a free 'Chummy' burger at their locations in Damansara Perdana, Bandar Sunway, and Mont Kiara anytime between 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Each voter will be entitled to one burger while stocks last.

"I realised a lot of people around me are not interested in voting. So, I thought to myself, what better way to encourage them than free burgers," co-founder Lai Wick Kee said according to The Malay Mail.

"People will be voting from morning to evening. So I wanted to provide a promotion based on their flexibility," he added.

Head over to and one of the BIG Group stores: Plan b (Publika, Mid Valley, Ipoh), Bens (Pavilion, KLCC, Gardens, Publika, BSC), or BGFS (Batai, GLO, Publika) for some good ol' Malaysian food.
