A 4-Year-Old Boy's Foot Was Amputated After Getting Stuck In The Escalator At KL Sentral

Men from Bomba managed to retrieve the foot about two hours later.

In an incident that occurred at around 4 pm on Monday, 8 February, a four-year-old boy, who was on a family outing, lost half of his left foot when it got trapped in an escalator at KL Sentral KTM platform

He was rushed to the Kuala Lumpur hospital for treatment

It was learnt that the boy was on the escalator going down from the first floor heading towards the KTM station at 4pm when the mishap occurred.

His foot was said to be trapped in between the metal panel and the stairs.

Two hours later, the Fire and Rescue Department was called to assist in finding the remainder of the foot, believed to be stuck in the escalator, New Straits Times Online reported

"We dispatched six personnel to the scene from the Pantai Firestation and managed to retrieve it about two hours later,” City Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Azizan Ismail said adding that the foot was immediately handed over to hospital officials.
