KLIA's Immigration Service Has Been Named The Best In The World
The Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) surpassed other airports in Tokyo, Zurich, Copenhagen, and Munich to win the award.
The Immigration Department at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) has been voted as the Best Airport Immigration Service by travellers
The Skytrax World Airport Award ranked the national airport's immigration as the first in the world behind Hong Kong, Tokyo, Zurich, and Taiwan.
Established in 1999, the awards are coveted accolades for the international airport industry and act as a benchmark for global excellence. It is also the largest annual global airport customer satisfaction survey.
Trailing behind KLIA is the Hong Kong International Airport. Tokyo's Haneda Airport came in third, followed by the Zurich Airport in fourth place.
According to The Star Online, the rankings were released at the Amsterdam’s Passenger Terminal Expo in the Netherlands yesterday, 14 March.
That's not all! KLIA2 was placed third in the World’s Best Airport Terminals for Low Cost Airlines category.
Terminal 3 of Tokyo's Narita Airport took home the top spot, followed by the Kansai International Airport's Terminal 2.
Malaysia's airport staff were also ranked seventh in the Best Airport Staff category which considers the attitude, friendliness, and efficiency of front office staff at airports.
In the World's Best Airport category, Singapore's Changi Airport was voted the best in the world for the fifth consecutive year
KLIA placed 34th in the category.
