His little quirks had stolen the hearts of many

The fluffy Chow Chow, Puffie, had taken the Internet by storm

However, the beloved canine was recently reported by his owners to have passed away

Leaving his over 200,000 followers devastated.

His owners revealed the bad news on Instagram

They want both themselves and Puffie's fans to move on.

Puffie The Chow was born in China on 13 February this year and moved to Malaysia in June when he was given to his owners as a birthday present

Falling in love with their new furry friend, his owners started an Instagram and Facebook page to share their favourite pictures and videos of him.

His cuteness proved to be addictive, as his following on both accounts grew quickly.

He soon began to be known as the "world's cutest dog"
