Myvi Caught Speeding Against Traffic Flow On The North-South Expressway In Viral Video
The reckless act was caught on video by a driver travelling on the other side of the highway.
Footage of a Perodua Myvi speeding against traffic flow near the Kulai rest stop on the North-South Expressway (NSE) has gone viral on social media
The video showed the Myvi going against traffic on the southbound lane heading towards Johor Bahru. Oncoming drivers were honking and avoiding the errant driver.
The reckless act was caught on video by a motorist travelling on the other side of the highway. The clip, which was uploaded to a Facebook community page, has garnered over 530,000 views and 7,000 shares.
According to PLUS Malaysia Bhd (PLUS) chief operating officer Mohammad Fuad Khusairi, the incident occurred at around 8.15am yesterday, 1 June
PLUS patrollers were notified of the incident but when they arrived at the location, the Myvi driver had already left the scene.
Johor deputy traffic police chief superintendent Ibrahim Mat Som said there were no reports of road accidents between the Myvi with other vehicles.
It has been reported that the man has turned himself in to the police this morning
The man from Pasir Gudang was detained when he went to the Kulai District Police Headquarters (IPD) traffic division at 1.10am to assist in investigations, according to a report by The Star.
The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving, which carries a jail sentence of up to five years and a fine from RM5,000 to RM15,000.
