Free Workshop This October For Anyone In Malaysia Who's Interested In 3D Printing

Featured Speaker: Vyasa Kandasamy has been actively involved in the field of Computer Aided Design for more than 20 years. He has trained Professional Civil Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Chemical Engineers, Architects, Interior Designers and Product Designers on Computer Aided Design. Starting this year, he begun a new School, CAD Design School, teaching kids as young as 8 years old, Computer Aided Design. It started as a hobby, from a feeling that “I think young kids can learn this too. And why do they really have to wait till they are 20 to start learning this?” Vyasa will talk about how 3D Printing will effect Education in Malaysia.

Featured Speaker: Rapid Model representative, Johan Ariff, to discuss how 3D printing has profoundly impacted the ‘engineering’ industry. With more than 13 years of experience in additive manufacturing industry, Johan specialises in established/traditional prototyping for industrial design and mechanical engineering as well as for production tooling such as variety of Jigs & Fixtures, and emerging application for injection molding called Printed Insert Mold Tool. Throughout his career he has developed vast knowledge in variety of additive manufacturing technology starting from powder binding, laser curing, light projection and now Polyjet and Fused Deposition Modelling. Johan will present Rapid Model’s case studies of utilising their 3D printers for their global partners and what the future holds for the engineering industry.

Featured Speaker: Jason Tay is the Interim CTO of R&D in Vagler, steering the design and innovation trajectory for the desktop 3D printer development. He is also the principal designer of the 3D scanners. At The Makers Week, Jason will discuss how 3D printing has profoundly impacted the healthcare industry by presenting case studies of the utilisation of Vagler’s 3D printers.

Featured Speaker: Ayishwariya Menon was awarded the Governor’s Prize, and the Student Centenary Prize at Imperial College London, UK. She went on to work for the Acrobot Company Ltd., UK in the field of orthopaedic surgical navigation and robotics. She further specialised in computer assisted surgery with her work at Materialise N.V, Belgium applying Materialise’s core technology of 3D printing to orthopaedic surgery. Currently, she heads up the clinical business for Materialise at their Asia Pacific headquarters in Malaysia, her home country. Sparked by the spirit and vision of leader Wilfried Vancraen, Materialise has pioneered the large scale use of additive manufacturing or 3D printing technology.

Featured Speaker: Arte Academy’s Founder, Creative Director and Instructor Sky Ng, will discuss on the topic of how 3D printing has profoundly impacted the ‘Art’ industry. Sky is also an Autodesk Certified Instructor for 3Ds Max. As an educator, Sky has lectured in various colleges such as TAR University College, Alfa College and IACT College, and has also provided corporate training for various institutions such as SEGi College Sarawak and the CPG Corporation in Singapore. With the establishment of Arte Academy, Sky focuses his efforts in creating a revolutionised education system which emphasises on industrial pipelines, culture and technology, with the hopes of implementing the latest technologies into education, such as motion capture and 3D printing.
