Xiaomi is back at it again! On the 21 May, the Chinese electronics company launched the new Mi4i and it is packed with a ton of awesome features
According to Donovan Sung, Xiaomi's global director, he states that the every component of the Mi4i is of top notch quality. He emphasised that even the screws are of high quality.
Donovan Sung, Xiaomi Global’s director of product management international, takes pride in pointing out that that every component on the Mi 4i, from the Sharp and JDI displays to the camera sensors from Samsung and Sony are top-end components from major manufacturers. Even the screws are of the highest quality, says Sung.
thestar.com.myThe phone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which according to Sung, is custom made for Xiaomi. It also comes with a dual SIM card slot, HD screen and 2GB of ram amongst other features.
The 5-inch, 1080p Full HD screen Mi4i will run on the new MIUI 6 and Android 5.0 Lollipop, bundled with some serious specs to go with it; 2nd-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core 64-bit processor, 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 16GB of onboard Flash, and dual 4G SIM slots.
The smartphone is built around a 5.0" Full HD OGS IPS display with a density of 441 ppi. The panel comes with adaptive brightness technology, called Sunlight display, which improves its legibility when outdoors.
The Mi4i will also run significantly longer as well due to its high capacity battery
To keep the Mi 4i running for long, it gets a 3,120mAh capacity battery, which is probably the largest in its class for a 5″ compact device. According to Xiaomi, the Mi 4i is rated to last 1.5 days with average use and it supports Quick Charge to juice it up quicker than usual.

The camera setup is also changed and the Mi 4i now offers 13MP F/2.0 main snapper and a 5MP F/1.8 front-facer. The main camera packs a dual tone dual LED flash for better white balance in low light shots. There are a lot of changes on the software side as well and not just the camera app. Beautify and HDR have received a major overhaul.
While the features are cool, the most impressive bit about the Xiaomi Mi4i is the pricing. Priced at only RM749, the Mi4i is one of the few high quality phones in the market that's priced that low.
