UK Studio To Turn Malaysian Author's Crime Thriller Novel Series Into A TV Show

Malaysian author Rozlan Mohd Noor's crime thriller novel series is being adapted into a television show by a UK production company

On 19 August, a UK studio, Envision Entertainment, announced the selection of the crime thriller series, Inspector Mislan, written by Malaysian author Rozlan Mohd Noor, to be adapted into a television show.
Michael Nakan, the chief content officer of Envision Entertainment was quoted by World Screen saying, "The Inspector Mislan character is perfect for television; he is a gritty, seemingly incorruptible Malay Muslim street cop who brooks no opposition, from the criminal mafia or his superiors."

In the first novel, the story begins with the corpses of a father, mother, and son carefully staged at a dinner table, served with a single traditional Chinese New Year dish, yee sang.
"I am delighted we have the opportunity to bring Inspector Mislan to the television audience. We intend to partner a Malaysian writer/filmmaker with a British one in order to make high-quality, authentic content that works for both local and global audiences," Michael Nakan stated.
As of now, there are no announcements on its actual release date, production schedule, and casts.
Currently residing in Thailand, Rozlan Mohd Noor is working on the fifth installment of the Inspector Mislan series expected to release next year
The author had previously served as a crime investigator in the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and a court prosecutor for 11 years, before he joined the private sector.
His first novel, 21 Immortals: Inspector Mislan and The Yee Sang Murders, was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writer's Best First Book and longlisted for the International Dublin Literary Award.
