His acting prowess and success earned him a spot as one of the three major Khans who ruled the Hindi Box Office in the 1990s, with the other two being Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.

More recent Bollywood movies in which Salman played lead roles include DabanggEk Tha TigerSultan, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

His popularity has also made him a trendsetter, and eagle-eyed fans have long since spotted one particular fashion accessory that Salman is never seen without — a silver bracelet with a turquoise gem.

But, did you know that there's a story behind this trademark bracelet of his?

Gifted to the actor by his father long ago, Salman has worn the bracelet on his right wrist ever since. It is very special to him, and he is rarely seen without it.

He even wears the bracelet in some of his movies, such as Tere Naam, Partner, and others. What's more, it was largely highlighted in the film Jai Ho.

Salman thinks of the bracelet as his lucky charm, and believes that some of his movies became hits because he was wearing the lucky bracelet in them.

Because Salman mentioned that the bracelet is a lucky charm for him, it soon became a popular fashion trend

To show their love and support for the actor, many of his fans started wearing similar-looking bracelets. It gained such immense popularity that replicas are now available in many jewellery stores and online e-commerce sites.

In fact, together with his father, Salman himself launched the bracelet online under his brand, Being Human.

Also known as feroza, the turquoise gemstone in the bracelet is a hydrous phosphate of copper and aluminium that is found widely in Tibet, Iran, China, and Mexico

More than just a style statement, the gemstone is considered to be lucky, and is often worn to prevent bad luck, as protection from evil, to induce healing, and to increase growth in success.

It is said that the turquoise stone should only be worn in a silver or platinum setting, just like Salman's bracelet.

Here are some of the effects the feroza gemstone supposedly has:
- Representing the planet Jupiter, it brings attributes like wisdom and prominence into one's life
- Maintains an equilibrium between all the chakras and helps to stabilise mood swings
- To bring good luck, it should be worn on a specific day. Between 6am to 8am on Fridays is considered the best day and time to wear it.
- Has healing properties, ensures overall physical fitness, eliminates pollution-inflicted diseases, and boosts the immune system
- Will protect from thefts, accidents, unwanted incidents, mishaps, and violence
- Reduces mental stress
- Believed to change colour and lose lustre to warn the wearer of impending danger
- Its metaphysical properties help to drop negative energy and burdens of the past that obstruct personal progress
- Gifting it to a friend will strengthen your bond. It'll also act as a protective shield for the wearer.
- Infuses a deep understanding between partners to help maintain stability in married life
- Improves the creativity and charisma of the wearer
