Well, this mother in Pennsylvania, United States has the best method we all have been looking for

TikTok user @rmd_bby, nicknamed Anna, posted a video of her mother responding to a scam call on 26 March.

Instead of layaning the caller, the mother had a metal saucepot lid and a spatula ready to give the caller back a "ring".

"Oh my god, I am so excited," the mother sarcastically exclaims

Anna then asks her mother if the person has hung up, to which her mother responds, "Ya, of course."

At the time of writing, the video has gone viral with over 15.7 million views on TikTok. It has also caught Malaysians' attention, as one repost in a local Facebook group has garnered over 4,600 shares.

"Those people (scam callers) have been scamming me three times a day for over a year. I had it." explained the mother, before saying she loves her fans.

Anna clarified later in the video that the scam caller was trying to give her mother a free hotel stay.
