Who knew sambal belacan is this easy to make at home? :D
Just a show of hands, how many of you can't get through a meal without at least sambal belacan, chilli sauce, or pickled green chillies on the side? :p

SAMBAL BELACAN
Ingredients:
1/4 roll of belacan
2 chillies
2 cili padi
1 lime
1/4 teaspoon sugar
Directions:
1. Roast the belacan on a pan with oil.
2. Grind belacan, chillies, cili padi, lime and sugar using a pestle and mortar.
3. Serve with raw vegetables or ulam vegetables.
CHILLI SAUCE
Ingredients:
2 chillies
1 cili padi
4 cloves of garlic
1/2 tablespoon ginger
1 tablespoon vinegar
1/4 teaspoon sugar
Directions:
1. Blend chillies, cili padi, garlic, and ginger to rough paste.
2. Add vinegar and sugar.
3. Continue blending to mix.
4. Serve with chicken rice or roasted pork.
PICKLED GREEN CHILLIES
Ingredients:
2 green chillies
3 tablespoons vinegar
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions:
1. In a pot, bring the vinegar to a boil, add sugar and salt.
2. Pour the vinegar into a small jar, add green chillies.
3. Seal tight and refrigerate.
4. Serve with noodles or rice.
