Aside from books, Tsutaya is known as a multi-concept store with a cafe and art display, among other things

At some outlets, there's even a stationery section and lounge area. So you'll definitely wanna set aside some time 'cause you might spend all day here!

Its parent company, Culture Convenience Club, has established over 1,000 stores including its CD and DVD rental chain known as Tsutaya.

As e-commerce sites entered the market over the years, many large bookstore chains have been on a steady decline. However, Tsutaya's founder Muneaki Masuda believes that for many customers, shopping is about the experience just as much as it is about the purchase.

Wanting to keep that alive in this fast-paced world, Tsutaya Books offers a cosy, aesthetically-pleasing physical space where customers can escape, slow down, and enjoy life.

Today, Tsutaya is Japan's largest rental chain brand distributing books, DVDs, games, and music. It has around 1,200 stores in Japan, as well as around nine international stores.

So mark your calendars, y'all!
