You Can View All Of Leonardo Da Vinci's Paintings In Malaysia For The First Time
Visitors can expect masterpieces like the 'Mona Lisa' and 'The Last Supper' to be reproduced in their original dimensions at 'Leonardo Da Vinci: Opera Omnia'.
In his lifetime, famed painter Leonardo Da Vinci produced many artworks, some of which have since been lost to time.
Only 17 of his oil paintings remain to this day - and now Malaysians can view them all in one place.
To celebrate the 500th year since Leonardo's death, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and public television distributor Rai has launched the 'Leonardo da Vinci: Opera Omnia' exhibition.
The exhibition is part of a series of events around the world to commemorate the life of one of Italy's greatest geniuses, reported the Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou.
The magic of the exhibition, which will run from 15 July to 15 August at the National Art Gallery, is made possible with digital acquisition and reproduction technology

"'Leonardo Opera Omnia' is an innovative, ambitious project aiming to share Italian cultural heritage by exhibiting 'digital paintings': high definition, true-to-size reproductions of Leonardo's 17 paintings," the Embassy of Italy to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia wrote on Facebook.
In a press release provided by the National Art Gallery, famed curator Prof. Antonio Paolucci said visitors can expect masterpieces like the 'Mona Lisa' and 'The Last Supper' to be "reproduced in their original dimensions".
"Thanks to shrewdly regulated light, they elicit the emotions one normally has when standing in front of the originals," he explains.
Best of all, the exhibition is open to the public and is absolutely free!
Visitors can also delve into the exhibition with guided tours available on the following dates:
- Saturday, 27 July,
- Sunday, 28 July,
- Saturday, 3 August,
- Sunday, 4 August, and
- Saturday, 10 August.
The one-hour English sessions are conducted at 11am and 3pm. Simply gather at the front of 3A Gallery to join.
