This restaurant in SS2 has been serving authentic Baba Nyonya cuisine since 1974, attracting loyal customers over the years. Some crowd favourites are their sambal udang petai, kapitan chicken, and sayur paku lemak.

Located in a quiet neighbourhood in Taman Yarl is this bungalow restaurant that offers authentic Penang Nyonya cuisine in a homey setting. They serve acar fish, sambal goreng prawns, chicken kapitan, gulai tumis fish, curry fish head, and kerabu four-angled beans, among other dishes.
Take note that you will need to reserve a table in advance, as they operate as a private kitchen.

Wanting to retain much of the traditional Chinese heritage, this cafe in KL kept many of the architectural details of the pre-war shophouse. They even kept the wooden latches on the doors to the kitchen and furnished the space with over 100-year-old Malayan furniture to add to the authentic ambience.
Some recommended dishes are their Nyonya laksa that's said to be creamy and fragrant, pie tee, durian bubur cha cha, and sago gula Melaka. The cafe is located just a two-minute walk from Petaling street.

Big Baba is a cosy little restaurant in Taman Desa offering comforting Peranakan food in a nostalgic setting. Their otak-otak is said to be really tasty with big chunks of fish meat, while the rest of their must-try dishes, like their asam pedas, chilli garam fish, and ayam buah keluak, are packed with flavours.

Sarang Cookery offers hearty dishes at their colourful, welcoming space in KL. They have a good variety of homemade dishes to share, as well as individual meals, suitable for large or small groups.
Their nasi ulam is highly recommended. There's also a unique dessert called the 'Gula Melaka Crepe', invented by the owner herself. It includes a mix of chilli padi, bunga kantan, and gula Melaka.

Popular for their homey, unpretentious Nyonya food, Baba Low's has been around for years, with two outlets in KL.
Their pie tees are the perfect combination of crunchy and tasty. If you're unsure of what to order, check out their 'Nasi Nyonya' platters, that come with a side of bendi sambal belacan (ladies' fingers sambal), and a dish of your choice, such as the ikan chilli garam and sambal prawn.

Nyonya Cuisine used to be located in Atria mall but have since shifted to their own space nearby. The restaurant gives off a homey ambience and their dishes echo that — homecooked without any artificial pastes. Some recommended dishes are their asam fish and fried popiah.

Little Yum Yum is tucked away in a corner of shops in Kota Damansara, and is said to be one of the best places for Nyonya food in the area.
Their Nyonya curry prawn is creamy and flavourful, sambal belacan is heavenly, and their fish gulai is highly recommended by customers.

Limapulo was founded by Alan Yun and Uncle John, a 78-year-old friendly 'baba' behind the restaurant's recipes.
Their signature laksa that customers say is thick, creamy, and fragrant, even won an award for Best Laksa in Klang Valley back in 2015, according to Free Malaysia Today.
Wash it all down with their cendol or crowd-favourite sago gula Melaka, that'll leave your taste buds wanting more. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for tasty Peranakan dishes in KL.

You'll be able to find all of your favourite Nyonya dishes at Tanjung Bunga, which is situated along the row of shops in Chow Yang.
The restaurant has been around for years, offering dishes such as fish head curry, sayur paku, and prawn sambal petai — all of which have been said to be unpretentious and consistently tasty.

Run by the same owners behind Limapulo, you'll find similar dishes from there, along with other Asian fusion food. The space, which is located in Old Klang Road, has a quaint, kampung feel to it, furnished with old school items that'll take you back in time.

Offering a mix of decent Nyonya cuisine and fusion dishes, Little Heritage House also has a small museum on the first floor, showing off Peranakan culture and antiques.
Their dishes include petai eggs, otak-otak, mutton rendang, and more, which are said to be immensely flavourful.

Opened in 2001, Mum's Place has earned itself a great reputation for offering tasty, homecooked Peranakan dishes over the years.
Unfortunately, the restaurant recently announced that it will be shutting down by the end of December, so it's best to enjoy their food as much as you can while they're still operating.
