A 13-year-old girl died by suicide at her home in Puchong Utama, Selangor, on Sunday night, 29 January

According to Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, the police were alerted about the incident at 11.21pm and immediately rushed to the scene, reported New Straits Times.

"Preliminary investigation showed that prior to the incident, the deceased's mother had scolded her for owning a mobile phone without her permission and for going out at night often," said the police chief.

The police also discovered a note that the Form One student had left behind prior to the incident and the note is currently under review.
