56 Hikers Taken To The Police Station For Entering A Waterfall Area Without A Permit
Residents in the area filed complaints about visitors who disrupted their daily lives by parking their vehicles on the side of the road, damaging water pipes and rubbish bins, as well as leaving trash everywhere.

56 hikers were apprehended by the Selangor Forestry Department while near the Setinggi waterfall in Serendah
Selangor Forestry Department director Datuk Ahmad Fadzil Abdul Majid told Harian Metro that an operation was carried out on Saturday, 25 September, by a team of officials and staff members from the Hulu Selangor district forestry office along with the police.
The individuals nabbed for entering the waterfall area were between the ages of 19 and 33.
The operation was carried out after the authorities received complaints from fellow residents in the area
According to Ahmad Fadzil, residents claimed that hikers were trespassing the area without a valid permit and would pass by their private properties.
"Residents also claimed that visitors disrupted their daily lives by parking their vehicles on the side of the road, damaging water pipes and rubbish bins, as well as leaving trash everywhere," he added.
The hikers were taken to the Kuala Kubu Bharu police station for further action
Ahmad Fadzil said that the Selangor Forestry Department has yet to issue permits for hiking or other recreational activities under Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
He then added that entering permanent forest reserves without a valid permit is a violation under the National Forestry Act 1984.
"The public is expected to abide by the existing rules. Any inquiries and complaints can be referred to the Selangor Forestry Department or the district forest offices," he noted.
