Malaysian Murders His Boss At Their Office After Being Fired For The Second Time

Yu Jinman was notified by his boss, a 30-year-old man named Lin Xinjie, that he was being relieved of his position in online retail company Jiji Singapore, China Press reported.

Lin attempted to defend himself with a small knife before succumbing to his injuries.

Since other employees had gone for their lunch break, Jili's other director, Lucas Li Mingqiao, was the only one to rush to the scene to help.

Yu severely injured him as a result.

Lin, who was lying in a pool of his own blood, was pronounced dead by a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) paramedic at the scene, AsiaOne reported.

The suspect and Lucas were rushed to the Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) for treatment.

"When he was fired the first time, he pleaded for a second chance and (Lin) gave in," the man told The Straits Times.

"But his poor work performance continued to affect the operations of the company and (Lin) decided to fire him the second time," he added, explaining that he frequently took leaves and skipped work without legitimate reasons.

Arrested for murder, Yu will be charged in court today, 13 March.

"Even though he is only 30 years old, his company already has about 40 employees and is growing steadily. If he was not sick or overseas, he would always be at the office, even on the weekends," his father said.

Jiji Singapore posted on its website and Facebook account yesterday that it will be closed until further notice, and that its store pick-up, delivery service, and showroom would also be ceasing operations.
