In a much-anticipated move, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has confirmed that he's reshuffling his Cabinet today, 12 December

An announcement is scheduled for later this morning, followed by a visit to Istana Negara at 2.30pm.

"I will announce it around 10.30am to 11am, and at 2.30pm, I will be at Istana Negara. But at 10.30am, I will explain and announce," FMT quoted Anwar as saying during a press conference in Putrajaya today.

While addressing reporters, Anwar hinted at the possibility of expanding the Cabinet. However, he clarified that it would still be smaller than the Cabinet of the previous administration.

"There will be a slight increase, (but) smaller than (the) previous (one)," he affirmed.

A number of the portfolios are rumoured to be affected

Among them is the Health Ministry, currently headed by Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

According to the New Straits Times, Dr Zaliha is to be replaced by Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, who previously held the portfolio for about two years before the fall of the Pakatan Harapan government in February 2020.

The Domestic Trade and Costs of Living Ministry, which has been without a minister since the passing of Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub in July, is also expected to be filled in today's reshuffle.
