The fine against BN comes after the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) had voiced out against the alleged "double standard" as they were slapped with a fine of RM4,000 for holding a press conference
The fine against MUDA was issued to its secretary-general Amira Aisya, who had pointed out that Najib Razak and BN have yet to receive similar fines, according to Malay Mail.
According to Amira, the authorities had given the party permission to hold the press conference.
Meanwhile, MUDA president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman took to Twitter to share a clip from the BN event to question the fine and alleged double standard in enforcement.
Syed Saddiq claimed that unlike BN, MUDA's event had only five people.
