#Budget2023: Highest Allocation Ever At RM386.10 Billion

The national debt and liabilities have ballooned to RM1.5 trillion, or around 81% of the gross domestic product (GDP).

The total allocation for Budget 2023 has increased to RM386.10 billion in comparison to the amount announced by former finance minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz last October

Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim revealed the total allocation during the tabling of the Supply Bill 2023 in the Dewan Rakyat today, 24 February.

The allocation announced today is 16.3% higher than the Budget under Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob's administration, making it the highest thus far.

Anwar also said the national debt and liabilities have ballooned to RM1.5 trillion, or around 81% of the gross domestic product (GDP).
