Couple Who Went Missing From Hospital To Dodge COVID-19 Test Has Been Found
The couple cooperated with the police and health officers after they were located.
A couple who fled from the Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital (HSIP) in Kuala Krai, Kota Bharu, on Thursday night, 4 February, has been found
The Orang Asli couple from Kampung Pos Tohoi near Gua Musang was scheduled to undergo a COVID-19 screening test after their 25-day-old baby girl tested positive for the coronavirus.
However, they fled the hospital at about 9.30pm on Thursday.
Following which, on Friday, a special task force was formed to track down the couple.
According to Kelantan police chief Datuk Shafien Mamat, a team from the Laloh police station located the couple at a hut in Sungai Sam at about 5.30pm on Saturday, 6 February.

"After arriving at the location, the police team found the couple at the hut. They have given their cooperation to the police and health officers," Shafien was quoted as saying by New Straits Times today, 7 February.
Shafien said the couple, identified as Denan Tunggal, 31, and his wife Elina Aling, 33, were later brought back to the hospital to undergo screening tests for COVID-19.
