Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has urged for more information regarding an alleged incident of bullying at a military camp that has gone viral on Twitter
In a Facebook post on Thursday, 2 December, he asked for the individual who wrote the anonymous cry for help to come forward so that he may take action immediately.
"I appeal to the individual to DM (direct message) me or contact my office immediately to provide a more detailed account," Hishammuddin said.
He assured that the identity of the informant will be protected and stern action will be taken if the allegation is proven to be true.
"My deputy has also been asked to look into the matter personally," he added.

Earlier, a screenshot of an individual's message to a popular Twitter user went viral
The message claims that their younger brother who stays in a barracks of an army camp was getting severely bullied by a group of seniors.
"Help me. I'm at my wit's end. My younger brother is a soldier at an army camp, he's getting beat up by seniors and his money is getting taken away. Even his savings are getting used up," read the message.
The individual claims that about 12 to 14 seniors are using their brother's money to buy daily necessities for themselves and that he is too afraid to do anything.
In a following message, the person also said his brother is no longer in training but is still getting ragged every night.
"Imagine working into the night, and returning to the dorm to get beat up until 3am to 4am. He only gets to sleep one hour before waking up again for duty. It's so sad," said the worried family member.

The Twitter user said their family have also gone to the police about the bullying but were told the victim needed to make a report at the camp first
"My brother said previous cases like this have been reported to the higher-ups before but they only punish them to 45 minutes of marching. Please ask around for anyone who can help us," they pleaded.
The family member added they are worried about the safety of their brother, who might suffer the same fate as the late Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) student, Zulfarhan Osman Zulkarnain, who was bullied to death.
"If they announce it in the camp, they will know it's my brother that made the report. I'm afraid. Help."
