Dine-Ins Allowed For Fully Vaccinated People In States Under Phase 1 Of NRP

The relaxed restrictions, which come into effect at midnight, 20 August, were announced as Malaysia hits a new record of COVID-19 cases today, 19 August.

Starting tomorrow, 20 August, fully vaccinated people in areas under Phase 1 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) can dine in, according to an announcement by caretaker Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin

People must adhere to strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) while doing so.

The fully vaccinated individuals must also display the vaccination certificates at outlets.

Families, where both parents are fully vaccinated, are allowed to take their children who are under 17 years old to dine in with them, Muhyiddin said in his statement.

Weekly and night markets will also be allowed to operate

The new relaxed SOPs will come into effect at midnight, 20 August.

The announcement about relaxed SOPs comes as daily COVID-19 cases in the country hit a new record high with 22,948 today, 19 August

Selangor remained at the top with 7,175 new cases, followed by Sabah at 2,583, Kedah at 2,137, Penang at 1,655, Johor at 1,526, and Kuala Lumpur at 1,439.
