On Tuesday, 25 April, DDQ Services, a Singaporean trauma cleaning company, shared a tragic TikTok video about an elderly man who died alone in his apartment above a shoplot

According to the post's caption, the man's body was discovered by a barber shop owner whose store is located directly below the deceased's apartment.

The deceased was found dead on 20 April, just two days before the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations began.

When the trauma cleaners investigated the apartment, they were met with a startling sight and described that a room inside the house was flooded with water from a clogged sewage pipe, bodily fluids, and decay remnants.

They added that maggots were also seen in the murky water.

"The scene was distressing, and I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the tragedy that had unfolded in this tiny room," read the caption.

While the trauma cleaners were busy preparing to clean up the bedroom, they noticed something that touched their hearts

They said that they found an untouched set of clothing, which included a pair of baju kurung, a samping, and a pair of shoes.

One of the trauma cleaners also told AsiaOne that, at first, he thought that the clothes neatly hanging in the corner of the room were just "normal clothing".

But upon further inspection, he realised that the man was excitedly waiting for the upcoming Hari Raya celebration.

Meanwhile, the barber shop owner also shared with the trauma cleaners that the elderly man did not have any close relatives or family members

Nevertheless, the deceased was still anticipating celebrating the festive season all by himself.

The owner also said that it had been a lifelong dream for the deceased to own a house of his own, which they said he was close to achieving.
