Despite losing her father to lung cancer five months ago, 28-year-old Intan Mardhiah still expressed her love and filial piety by decorating his grave

According to Harian Metro, Intan decorated her late father's grave by placing a grass carpet and a tombstone on it.

She was also assisted by her 57-year-old mother, Rahimah Idris, brother, Ahmed Izzatullah, 34, younger sister, Rabitah Hani, and her husband, Muhammad Al Afif Kamaruzaman, 28.

They decorated the deceased's grave on 8 July, a day after Intan's mother finished her iddah (grieving) period.

"She was also the most determined to build him a home without hiring outsiders. So, we siblings obeyed and tried to help by digging and flattening the soil. We were also the ones who placed the carpet and tombstones," said Intan.

Intan said the decoration of her late father's grave went smoothly, and she felt thankful for the peaceful day they had while doing it

She added that they dedicated two and a half hours to complete everything, starting at 1pm and wrapping up at 3.30pm.

"Alhamdulillah, the weather was good that day and we were able to finish everything before the Asar prayer.

"As a daughter, I'm happy to have a mum who continued to gift something meaningful to my dad even though he's no longer in this world," she said.

Last month, an elderly couple in Petaling Jaya passed away on the same day, only 12 hours apart:
