Former Lord President Tun Salleh Abas Dies After Testing Positive For COVID-19
He was 91 years old.
Former Lord President of the Federal Tun Mohamed Salleh Abas has passed away after testing positive for COVID-19. He was 91 years old.
The news of his death was announced by his children earlier today, 16 January.
The 91-year-old, who had tested positive for COVID-19 on 14 January, died at 3.20am Saturday.
At the time of testing positive for the coronavirus, Tun Salleh was reported to be stable and receiving treatment at the intensive care unit of Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) in Kuala Terengganu.
He died of pneumonia at HSNZ
According to Terengganu Health director Dr Nor Azimi Yunus, Tun Salleh died at the ICU of HSNZ.
"His remains will be buried at the Sheikh Ibrahim Islamic Cemetery in Jalan Pusara, Kuala Terengganu," his daughter, Natlrah, told Bernama.
Tun Salleh served as Lord President of the Federal, now known as Chief Justice of the Federal Court, from 1984 to 1988
