Thinking of pursuing a degree, master's, or doctorate in a foreign country?
Hungary has over 40 scholarship programmes waiting for Malaysians to sign up.
According to Bernama, Hungarian Ambassador to Malaysia Dr Petra Ponevács-Pana said Malaysians are welcome to apply for the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship programme.
Introduced in 2018, Ponevács-Pana said the scholarship covers tuition fees, monthly stipend, accommodation, and medical insurance.
A check on the programme's website found that 33 universities in Hungary are participants in the initiative, with 18 of those located in Budapest — the country's capital.
Students have over 500 full degree programmes to choose from, such as agriculture, architecture and cultural heritage, health science, natural science, and environmental science.
The programme has undergraduate courses up to postgraduate courses.

Although the Central European country has been offering the scholarships for more than two years now, Ponevács-Pana said the take-up rate remains low
So far, only 80 Malaysians have benefited from the initiative. On its website, however, it is said that the programme attracts more than 5,000 international students each year.
"We have noticed that we should increase the visibility and accessibility of the scholarship programme, Ponevács-Pana told Bernama in her maiden interview with local media.
"I am planning to tour selected states in Malaysia to reach out to secondary school pupils on the possibilities available to study in Hungary, [which is] the 10th most attractive destination in Europe to pursue higher studies."
Established in 2013 and implemented in 2015, the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship programme has been introduced to more than 60 countries
The initiative was set up through bilateral educational cooperation. It is supervised by the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and managed by the Tempus Public Foundation.
When elaborating on why Hungary is a good education destination, Ponevács-Pana said the country has high-quality education, and its degrees are recognised by European countries and beyond.
According to her, students choose Hungary as their study destination because of its affordable cost of living as well as its safe and friendly living environment.
