Jho Low Allegedly Gave Nearly RM407,000 To Donald Trump's 2020 Election Campaign
The transaction is currently under investigation by the US Justice Department.
Malaysian fugitive financier Jho Low is being investigated by the US Justice Department (DOJ) for an alleged donation to President Donald Trump's re-election campaign for 2020
The Guardian reported earlier today, 13 March, that the DOJ is probing a USD100,000 (approximately RM407,000) donation made to a fundraising committee for Trump's 2020 campaign, allegedly by Jho Low.
He is reportedly living in China.

The donation was apparently made in December 2017
According to Wall Street Journal, the RM407,000 was transacted to the Trump Victory committee – which is involved in the US President's 2020 election campaign.
The donation was allegedly made under the name Larry Davis, a US citizen who co-owns LNS Capital, an investment company.

However, the DOJ is investigating if a part of Jho Low's USD1.5 million (approximately RM61 million) was used to donate to Trump's campaign.
It is a federal crime in the US for foreign individuals or companies to donate, either directly or indirectly, to American politicians or fundraising committees.
Nonetheless, the Trump Victory committee has told SAYS that they do not accept contributions from foreign individuals or companies
"Trump Victory does not accept contributions from corporations or foreign nationals in accordance with the law," Cassie Smedile, a spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee (RNC), told SAYS.
"We vehemently deny any wrongdoing on the part of the RNC or Trump Campaign," she added.
The Malaysian fugitive had already been slapped with three charges in the US
The Daily Beast reported that Jho Low was indicted on three counts of conspiring to violate foreign anti-bribery laws and money laundering last year.
Back home, the Malaysian financier is facing 15 money laundering charges over 1MDB, according to The Star.
Jho Low has yet to be arrested despite an arrest warrant issued for him in June 2018:
